War on Waste

        NOD 3.0 is our
        initiative towards a more
        sustainable organization. There have
been many corporate casualties over the past five
years who did not make the necessary changes to
position the business for success and failed.

Does anyone remember Toys R Us or Circuit City? They were Bigger, but not Better and are now
erased from existence! As a team we must be committed to making the necessary moves to
become a more efficient and productive business. One way to accomplish this is by eliminating
the waste in our day-to-day activities. So the question is… How can you limit the waste?

I challenge you to look at your daily tasks and adjust one aspect of that task to help eliminate
the waste. Share it with us by sending it to ckramer@nationaloak.com for the next issue. For
more examples on how to tackle the war on waste, see some examples from 2018 that earned
all National Oak employees an extra day off for the Holidays in the December Pledges section on
        pages 12-23.
